All one hundred and eighteen of them—included any that may have been omitted in the periodic table—will melt in the heat.

Hello Blissfuls! 💕

Do you still remember your Periodic Table from your chemistry class?

In chemistry classes at school, we learn that this Universe is made up of at least one hundred and eighteen elements. These are usually displayed in what is known as the Periodic Table of Elements. Every matter in this universe is made up of one or more of these elements.

Now, do you know that one day, every single one of these elements will melt in the heat of God’s fire, bringing this entire physical universe to an end.

2 Peter 3:10-12 NIV
[10] But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. [11] Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives [12] as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

If everything in this universe is made up of these elements, and if one day the elements themselves melt in the heat, what becomes of this cute universe?

Think about that.

The Holy Spirit tells us that one day, the elements will melt in the heat and it will all be over. That is absolutely certain. And that is why I will continue to tell you that this whole earth is already condemned to fire and doomed.

So, there’s no point clinging to a hopeless universe. There’s no point investing your hopes and aspirations in doomed earthly things. There’s no point laying your treasures in these earthly places. There’s absolutely no wisdom in doing that.

This world in its present form is passing away.

1 Corinthians 7:31 NLT
Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

Keep that in mind.

Also bear in mind that, probably long before the elements melt in the heat, you may have gone from here. So, this is no home for any of us. We’re just passing through.

Consequently, what kind of attitude should we adopt towards this present world? What kind of people should we be? Where should we invest our treasures and hopes?

2 Peter 3:11 NIV
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives.

Oh yes! We ought to live holy and godly lives. We should not become attached to any part of this doomed universe.

Matthew 6:19-20 NIV
[19] “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. [20] But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

That’s it right there! We should invest our treasures, not in a universe condemned to destruction, but more and more in Heaven!
